Towel Taken Off Market 22. júní 2006 13:06 Household goods store Rúmfatalagerinn has pulled a brand of towel from their shelves after it was brought to light that the towels might be made from child labour. The towels, made by the company Capri, are exported to Iceland from the Danish company Jysk, who buy them directly from the manufacturer. A few days ago, Danish television indicated that this manufacturer engages in child labour. "We have no interest in selling such goods," said Rúmfatalagerinn general manager Magnús Kjartan Sigurðsson. "The moment it was brought to our attention that there was some problem with this towel we took it off the shelves immediately." Department store Hagkaup has followed suit, by taking these towels off their shelves as well. - pfn News News in English Mest lesið Starfsmaður grunaður um kynferðisbrot á leikskóla Innlent Skógareldur ógnar byggð í Álasundi Erlent Staðfesta andlát Larijani og Soleimani Erlent Gagnheiðargöng verði sáttaleið Austfirðinga Innlent Yfirheyrslur gætu staðið yfir fram á kvöld Innlent Framtíð Foreldrahúss í óvissu: Nær ekki í Ingu Sæland Innlent Geti ekki starfað undir Bandaríkjaforseta með góðri samvisku Erlent Segir ekkert hérað Rússlands öruggt lengur Erlent Kosningavaktin 2026: Landsmenn kjósa sér sveitarstjórnir Innlent Hugsanleg veggjöld á Reykjanesbraut og Suðurlandsvegi: „Þessi áform mega ekki ná fram að ganga“ Innlent
