Aluminum smelter celebrates anniversary

About 5000 people came to the aluminum smelter Alcan in Straumsvík to celebrate the 40 year anniversary of the smelter. Alcan opened the doors to guests and staff provided guided tours around the facilities. Entertainment for children and parents included a concert with Guðrún Gunnarsdóttir and Friðrik Ómar. Gunni and Felix entertained the children to their enjoyment. The festivities went well, the weather was really nice and guests seemed to enojoy themselves.
